A single beam overhead crane is a kind of lifting equipment that is used to lift materials horizontally over workshops, warehouses, and stockyards. Because its two ends are located on tall concrete columns or metal supports, it looks like a bridge. The bridge of a single beam overhead crane runs longitudinally along the crane rail track laid elevated on both sides, which can make full use of the space under the bridge to lift materials without being hindered by ground equipment. It is the most widely used and the largest number of lifting machinery.

A single beam crane is an important tool and equipment to realize the mechanization and automation of the production process in modern industrial production and lifting transportation. Therefore, single beam overhead crane is widely used in indoor and outdoor industrial and mining enterprises, the iron, and steel chemical industry, railway transportation, port and wharf, logistics turnover, and other departments and places.

The working performance of a single beam overhead crane has a great relationship with lifting, span, and lifting height. In short, the smaller the lifting, the smaller the safety factor. The working level is generally A3. The matching track is better overlapped with the wheel.

Generally, the lifting capacity is less than 50t and the span is less than 35m. Without special requirements, a single beam overhead crane should be selected. If the gate leg is required to be wide, the working speed is high, or the heavy and long parts are often lifted, the double beam gantry crane should be selected. And the single beam overhead crane is a crane that suspends and fixes the beam on the walking track (I-beam) of the building. The position and span of the walking track can be set freely, which is most suitable for the production line.
