A Gantry rail crane is mainly used for loading and unloading goods in the outdoor freight yards, stockyards, and bulk cargo. Its metal structure is like a portal frame. Two legs are installed under the bearing main beam, which can walk directly on the track on the ground, and the two ends of the main beam can have extended cantilever beams. Gantry crane has many advantages: high site utilization; Large scope of operation; Wide adaptability; Strong universality, etc. Therefore, the gantry crane is widely used in port freight yards. Among them, gantry rail crane and tire gantry crane are the two most widely used.

Because the truck of the tire gantry crane adopts tire type walking, it can move the straddle truck flexibly and transfer operation. Its equipped power system is generally imported, and its power supply mode is diesel generator set; Gantry rail crane is powered by electricity. Nowadays, the price of diesel in the market far exceeds that of electricity. Considering only the consumption of diesel, it needs a lot of costs, and its maintenance cost is also extremely expensive. Therefore, gantry rail cranes are mostly used now.

Advantages of gantry rail crane:

  1. The hoisting structure is completed by relying on the track, which eliminates the fault source of wheeled vehicles or diesel generator sets in the traditional sense, and reduces the fault rate during the operation of the crane.
  2. Gantry cranes are mostly driven by electricity, so there is no need to change the oil in the process of use. The maintenance consumables are effectively controlled. The maintenance cost is low, cost is low, and the economic benefit is remarkable.
  3. In the process of lifting the track, the track of the gantry crane is fixed and used together with the vehicle positioning device, which avoids deviation in the process of heavy load operation and has a high degree of automation.
