Development Trend of the Cold Drawn Steel Industry
The cold drawn steel process is a process with less cutting, even no cutting in the processing industry. Cold drawn products are widely used in machinery, automobiles, agricultural machinery, electromechanical, military, home appliances and other industries. Compared with the machining production mode, cold drawn has the advantages of simple process, low consumption, energy saving, high surface hardness and large economic benefits. With the rapid growth of China’s national economy, great changes have taken place in various industries across the country, and the industry of cold-drawn steel has also changed. After the cold drawn, the yield strength of the steel can be increased by 20% to 30% with the rust removal and straightening effect. However, the steel plasticity is reduced after cold drawn, and the strength ratio of the steel bar is reduced. Since the design strength of mild steel is based on the yield strength, the cold drawing increases the design strength, but the compressive strength of the steel after cold drawing does not change. So the cold drawing reduces the strong yield ratio of the steel bar. At the same time, the cold drawing also reduces plastic deformation properties of the steel bar.
The cold drawn steel process refers to the production of products by changing the shape and size of the steel by external force under normal temperature conditions to meet the production needs of other industries. The cold drawing process is generally divided into two types, namely steel wire and profile steel bar. The cold drawn wire is a steel product with small specifications. The two processes are similar, but the equipment and product form are different. The market demand for cold drawn steel industry continues to expand. On the basis of continuous innovation and development in all walks of life, the market has also put forward new requirements for cold drawn steel. The product specifications are expanding. Product material requirements continue to expand. In the past, cold drawn steel products were mostly made of mild steel and carbon steel. Due to economic development and product upgrading, the demand for cold drawn steel materials such as spring steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel is gradually increasing. The market puts new demands on the accuracy of cold drawn steel. In the past, cold drawn steel mostly entered the market in the form of primary products. With the increase of customers, the high-tech industries of automobiles and agricultural machinery constantly put forward the accuracy requirements for cold drawn steel. Some of them exceed the national standard, and the accuracy error is within 3μm, and the finish requirements are higher.
