Application Overview about Spring Steel Flat Bar
Spring steel flat bar refers to flat steel with good elastic deformation ability. The carbon content is between 0.26% and 0.90%. Spring steel flat bar is mainly used in the manufacture of leaf springs on machinery such as automobiles, tractors and railway transportation. Spring steel grades mainly include SUP7 spring steel, SUP9 spring steel, SUP10 spring steel, 55CrMnA spring steel, etc.
The spring flat steel is mainly used for the production of leaf springs. The leaf spring is the most widely used elastic component in the automotive suspension. It is an elastic beam with approximately equal length made of alloy spring pieces with equal width but not equal length. The leaf springs are mainly used in suspension systems for large and medium-sized trucks, trucks and buses.
Leaf springs can be divided into multiple leaf springs and few leaf springs.
Multiple leaf spring is superimposed by a plurality of steel sheets of different lengths and same widths. The steel plates of the multiple leaf springs are folded into an inverted triangle shape. The uppermost steel plate is the longest, and the lowermost steel plate is the shortest. The number of steel plates is related to the weight of the supporting passenger car. The more, the thicker and the shorter the steel plate, the greater the spring rigidity. However, when the leaf springs are used for long time, the sheets will slide and rub against each other to generate noise. The relative friction between the steel plates can also cause the spring to deform, causing uneven travel.
The few leaf spring is superposed by steel sheets thin at both ends and thick in the middle of equal length and equal width. The section of the steel plate with few leaf springs varies greatly, and the cross section from the middle to the ends is gradually different, so the rolling process is more complicated and the price is more expensive than the multi-chip spring. Compared with the multi-blade spring, the few leaf spring is about 50% lighter than the multi leaf spring under the same stiffness, that is, under the same bearing capacity, which reduces fuel consumption and improves ride comfort. Moreover, there is a point contact between the few leaf springs, which reduces the relative friction and vibration and increases the ride comfort.
The equal-section leaf springs are generally used for trucks. For heavy-duty truck, front springs have equal sections, and rear springs are variable-section leaf springs. The variable-section leaf springs are generally used for passenger cars. The arrangement of truck leaf springs is arranged in a vertical arrangement, mainly for the purpose of weight bearing.
